Are there any figures for how many people miss trains due to last minute platform alterations?

At NWD the fast London Bridges use P1 every 15 mins. The slow Victoria's twice hourly also use P1. The VIC is tt for 3 mins after the LBG, so the LBG's run late and the Victoria's start at West Croydon, 2 miles away , so the LBGs are diverted to p3 very late so mad scramble very frequently on a...

Victoria Tube. District -Cicle. Lift F. East bound. Way out sign.

With friend who needs a lift. Went to above and got in, hopefully to exit station to Network rail. Went up to 2nd floor and seemingly went to a tunnel somewhere which did not have a prominent sign saying way out. Gave up as friend cannot walk far. Does any body know when you get lift F where...

Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson - yet another assistance failure

If you want possibly the biggest gap at any station go to P15 at Clapham Junction and wonder why no accidents. A " normal build person " would be swallowed by the gap if they fell. Due to the super elevation on track you need to step up about 9 inches while the train tilts away from you boarding...

Royal Mail to cease using trains

Perhaps if Articulated lorries and 8 wheel rigids paid a more realistic road excise duty, some of the apparent cheapness of lorries would dissappear. Damage to roads is more down to lorries than cars. Perhaps foreign lorries should pay a sum per visit. Just a thought.

Last minute platform changes, East Croydon

A similar problem frequently happens with the LBG fasts at NWD which conflict with the VIC stoppers from West Croy for use of Plat 1 which they both use but not at the same time. The LBG fast are often diverted to Plat 3 which is Ok for most but for a pram is not much fun as 2 stair cases to...

How can overcrowding on trains from Southampton Central be appreciated?

At 1115 today watched XC 5 car head to Man Pic. Full and standing not helped by cruise passengers with at least 3 cases per couple. A GWR 2 car trying to fit cruise passengers with luggage onto an already full train arriving at SOU heading West. Hardly a way to recruit repeat travel...

RMT turns down Network Rail Pay Offer

Can we not just have a thread saying RMT accepts offer. Constant regurgitation of who said what, where, or when is becoming tedious, boring and counter productive to the people who pay the fares. The passengers. It would be nice to see what is offered by the gaffers in actual detail and why the...

    Cost of station parking

I suspect car use will dwindle significanlty if insurance, fuel, parking costs, lack of chargers, environmental restrictions. 20mph etc, keep increasing. Near to killing the golden goose of motoring which seems a milk cow to all who have motorists wanting to use a particular service they run.
