Edinburgh & The Lothians Council Tender Services

I mean it's not exactly packed, but usually there's at least a few folk on it, often 3-6 people going between the gyle and clermiston.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

buses are designed to withstand many years of intense use. Lothian are known from buying high quality buses and for not cutting down on maintainance, meaning that indeed - the Airlink XLBs still don't seem even slightly old or worn at all, despite many years of intense usage. There's also the...

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

It seems they're going for plain and simple, which I think works fairly well. not really got many complaints apart from the fact that the tartan patterns on the front don't line up with eachother.

    24 registration buses and coaches

Free the Coo (trading as The Hairy Coo tours) seem to have gained a few new Yutongs, named as per usual for them. Freya is SG24 UHZ, I saw Amber but didn't get it's reg plate.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

I've seen conflicting information as to which one of the new Volvo 9700s is 9012 and which is 9013. Does anyone know for certain?

    Lothian Buses acquires Eve Coaches

I have seen it mentioned that the Eve fleet are to have new fleet numbers applied soon, but I'm treating that as pure speculation for now.

    Ember: Electric coach service

To me that coach has a distinctly North American look to it from the front, not sure how appealing I find it compared to the TCe12s they have.

    Stagecoach East Scotland

Effectively cutting the 16 so that it's useless for people who rely on it but not fully withdrawing it so it still technically exists, when it's the only service for some places along the route seems actively hostile.

Fleet names that weren't widely adopted

I don't think I've ever heard someone actually use 'AT200' to describe 385s, likely as its easier to just say 385 and a fleet name with numbers in it often isn't very memorable. Also, few people say 'Express Sprinter' for 158s and 'Super Sprinter' for 153s and 156s, most folk just use 'Sprinter'...

have 926-936 been upgraded to Euro 6? I think they have but I can remember for sure.

    Glasgow Subway new stock

that's something I was thinking as well! Orange as the main body colour of the G2 stock may be considered a bit old-fashioned with white being more in style currently, however the orange doesn't show the grime as badly as I expect the white will, that's unless they start thoroughly cleaning each...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

After so many years of Lothian having lots of buses parked in reserve for long periods of time, it seems they'll now be using just about every servicable bus they own between the service changes and the BZLs arriving.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Glad for the frequency increases, the 22A is the first A-prefix since 2017, and a service most people will never see given the times it runs, the N35 being unidirectional could be confusing for people, and service X47 has returned, with basically no relation to the last route to carry the number...

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

It's not really like Lothian to reshuffle fleet numbers unless needed, sure its happened many times, but this time they have literally hundreds of vacant fleet numbers so I very much doubt they'll change around fleet numbers.

    Independent Operators in the Lothians

The number of independant bus operators in the Lothians does seem to be ever decreasing, what with Eve now bought by Lothian only months after Horsburgh stopped operating public bus services. While many companies operate routes into the Lothians, I believe there are only 4 independent operators...

    Lothian Buses acquires Eve Coaches

After almost completely standardising the fleet to Volvo products, they've now bought a lot of second-hand non-Volvos, including bus and coach types they've never had (ie E200s).

    Lothian Buses acquires Eve Coaches

I assume the buses and coaches largely won't keep their current ones, as E18-E100 (with a lot of gaps) doesn't really fit anywehere neatly in the Lothian fleet. Quite likely split based on minibuses, buses and coaches. Wonder if the Optare Olympus will properly join the fleet.

    Lothian Buses acquires Eve Coaches

I was initially convinced this was some kind of joke, but it's not the 1st of April and I see no reason for Lothian to post fake announcements. Completely unexpected, and opens up a whole load of questions and speculation.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

It does seem like we're reaching a number of plain white buses not seen since 2019.
