    Lothian Buses and ECB Discussion

I'd love to weigh in on the arguments about the 18 plate Wright buses. I used the 8 last year when going to Granton College every day, once there once back. Of course, the 18 plates were almost always assigned to the 8, and nearly every day I'd be using one of the buses. The build quality is...

It'll have stopped because the last service ends just before 6

287 is the Standard life branded one, right? Could be that they're desprate and that's all they have

Well, it kinda sucks the 63 has went to First, for me anyway considering I use it everyday. Since I still have my ridacard I'll probably be using the 36 a lot more... If I didn't get the blasted ridacard for free First could easily tempt me t their sides

The ones with the larger font? Because if that's the case then thank goodness, I must admit I'm not particularly fond of the older ones

one of the big problems with the 30 is that it's one of the only buses that really reaches the fort at a decent speed, adding more usage on it than is really necessary. If you were to route the 15 through the fort (on a faster route than the 30 at that), you could relieve a lot of traffic. If...

I don't think anything is happening with it yet, it's probably gonna get changed next time the services change

noticed after looking that the x15 was suspiciously absent, wondered why and I guess this is the answer

Happy to see none of the routes I use are getting changed. The 1 and 12 getting changed about suprised me edit: Thinking about this does this mean we might be getting a depot swap for the 1 and 12? With the 12 operating out Central and the 1 from Marine

actually routing it like that would be a pretty big detour but it avoids the New Craighall bridge It's been suggested as a possible fix for the 30 before but it does add a fair bit of time and would require a big reroute

Ah, I see. I'm still getting used to a lot of Edinburgh so I wasn't aware. I remember a while back when the terminal was getting work done the end of the drive near Ocean terminal was used as bus termini

I never knew much about the 69, other than it was lightly used and mostly for the elderly residents of the area. Sad to see a bus route go, though. Always wondered why that was sealed off...

Snow has made it real chaotic out here, the traffic is horrendous. Saw a 35 had been diverted to Hermiston just before the Longstone roundabout and a clog of 25's was blocking the route further ahead. Seems a lot of services have been curtailed

it was mentioned earlier in the thread that the 6 will be withdrawn because of low usage, that's one major change I can think of There could be a few route changes to prepare for upcoming tram works, nothing much except rerouting a few buses. Rumours about Lothian dropping the 61 and letting...

The airport chooses the bus standards and they want new ones every 2 years or so because image I would guess. Skylink has no limit and as mentioned before they're commercialized so it's not an issue Thinking about it more the 300 would be a good candidate for XLB's, maybe at peak since the...

The airport has a two year age limit on it's buses, part of the contract for the 100, hence why the route's had new buses every two years

26 might be a good choice but since the route got new buses 3 years ago, all branded, I wonder if Lothian wants to invest in replacing all of them since they'd probably have to repaint them. I feel like the 44 is the best route for XLB's. As far as I know the route is suitable for them and it...

As far as I'm aware XLB's are too large to get around the turning circle at Heriot Watt, so I don't think any can be used on the 25

Yes, because I am lying about the state of the trains that I use every day for a laugh, nah they're packed like a can of sardines 24/7 and moving up is a conspiracy theory coined by the forums in order to sell more train tickets and destroy Lothian's reputation. I don't like the train service...
