Shortest UK car number plate you've seen

On car forums it's well known as being a fake (and there have been sightings on more than one car). Of course, the vehicle would have actually been registered and insured under its real plate, and so - since K9 doesn't exist - it's not a cloning offence and you can only get a piddly fine for...

Shortest UK car number plate you've seen

If it was in London or another city with emissions charges, there's a possibility it was being used to avoid those charges. But as you say, it is risky - it only needs a police car with ANPR enabled and it'll ping straight up on their system.

    Birmingham Moor Street gate line

I mentioned this in another thread, but when I use the train to go to work (once or twice a month) I buy a Coventry-Hawthorns Anytime DR. It is inevitably accepted by the New Street gateline, and inevitably rejected - in both directions - by the Moor Street one.

it’s a fairly safe bet that standard class passengers and taxpayers will indeed be paying for 1st class refreshments.

I'd be very surprised if anyone could get steaming drunk on the free alcohol on LNER. It's not like you can say "hi, I'll have five cans of lager please" ... you get one each time the hosts come round. The most beers I've ever had on a single journey is 3, and even that was on a heavily...

My usual journey is Newark to Edinburgh and return. Having said that our usual outbound service on a Saturday is quite early, so perhaps they get more boisterous later on.

I've not had this experience and I use LNER first a lot, mostly at weekends. It's often busy, but I've not really noticed it being "noisy". Perhaps I've just been lucky.

Shortest UK car number plate you've seen

That's a fake plate. K9 doesn't exist. A number of people have one as show plates for dog shows (K9 ... canine ... geddit) and so on.

Shortest UK car number plate you've seen

When I was a kid, my neighbour used to own E3, it was on an Austin 1100. These days it is on a 1973 E-Type Jag! I wonder if it stayed in the family. 1713531729 I regularly see 20E ("ZOE"). It's on a mid-2010s Suzuki Swift.

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

The MkIs all have their doors locked out of use. So WCRC has knocked together a 7 coach train with only 4 CDL-fitted vehicles. No heat or aircon, of course, with no diesel or generator van.

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

Now cancelled. "This service was cancelled due to a problem with a steam locomotive (ME)"

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

It's odd. 47s and 57s can go to Mallaig, and WCRC have plenty of those with ETS power ... except the one they sent up with the stock was not fitted.

Setting gates to reject tickets - Thameslink

On the odd occasion that I commute to work via train (usually when the car is in for its MOT or similar, or there's a work social event involving alcohol!) I buy an Anytime day return from Coventry to The Hawthorns. It is always accepted by the New Street barriers, and is always rejected by the...

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

The Scotsman has accused WCRC of running empty trains to block other operators from doing so. Unfortunately it's behind a pay wall...

5Z37, 06 43 LSL empty stock Crewe HS-Tom na Faire depot today.

Well, at least The Herald has worked it out now. This is behind a paywall, but you can work the tone of the article out from the headline. Jacobite Harry Potter train operators under fire The comments (which you can read without paying) aren't pulling any punches either.

Anyone have a clue at what happened at Rhyl

Well, some of the passenger trains have the reasons 1D32 - problem with the track (IS) 1V66 - due to the request of the police (VG) 1D91 - points failure (IB) 1D93 - signalling systems failure (IF) 1D21 Shewsbury-Holyhead has just left Flint 79 late after sitting in the station for 45 minutes...

WCML blockade - impact on EMR services? (29/03 - 01/04)

I travelled from Wellingborough to St Pancras on Friday afternoon, returning on Saturday morning. Whilst the services were busy they were certainly not overcrowded and the queues at St Pancras were not excessive at all.

WCRC loses judicial review in High Court

I am good friends with two people who work for WCRC and even they would both agree with you. Their opinions on certain people higher up in the company would be unprintable here.

LNER Delay repay, only paid 50% for 68 minutes late

There isn't a 1200, that goes to Inverness. The next one is 1400 and that was only 18 minutes late at Leuchars. The 1000 was indeed 68 late at Leuchars.
