Bad news. It seems they just ignored what i sent in my letter similar to other peoples experiences. I have seen on other posts that its possible to still agree out of court settlement with cross country directly by calling them. Should i give this a go or just wait for the next letter and see...

I have already sent the letter yesterday. I didnt include this but i will be sure to mention this if it does go further. I already have stated in the letter i can provide screenshots of past tickets on the app to prove i have never done this before. I will update once i get a reply.

I definitely scanned the ticket through the barrier and I think your friend is correct, as when I checked to see if the ticket had been refunded a couple of hours later it was unsuccessful. I still don't know what I was thinking to check if a refund would work or not
