    GWR job share?

Hi all Wondered if any GWR train drivers could tell me if there are job share opportunities at Bristol please? I am thinking of transferring, and in about 6 or 7 years would like to do a job share. My current TOC allows it, as long as you find another driver to share with, and they sign the...

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

I used software definately helped me, not just for this test either. For the sake of about £150 I thought it was well worth the investment to give myself the best possible chance of passing

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

My advice on what happened to me even though I passed ok. I found that after a while concentrating hard on the same square, I'm sure my mind started to play tricks on me and was telling me it was black when it wasn't. Anyway I found it a lot easier to judge by concentrating just outside the...

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

Hi all Does anyone have any information on what the pension is for train driving please? How much do you pay into it each month, what % the contributions are etc. I have had my medical so hopefully I will be starting soon, due to my age I can probably work for another 20 years, so would be...

Me also, but generally it seems to be about a week I believe. I was told verbally on the day I had passed, but didn't get a confirmation email for about 2 weeks, the other 3 who were with me at the same time all found out the same day about a week later. Good luck all

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

I was asked what my preference would be so had to choose one. I have since had a medical and as mentioned was told possibly November/December. I spoke to Laura quite a while ago and was told no one usually goes over the 2 year limit, unless by thier own choice. Also as much as we get frustrated...

Out of interest, what's the procedure after you have had a medical? Do you get told straightaway if you have passed? If you have passed are there further steps? How long after you passed is a job offer made? Thanks P.s no I have not had a medical yet

    A career as a signaller

Bit of a general question really, but how often on average do ROCs recruit for signallers? Do they wait until they have a number of vacancies or recruit as and when vacancies arise? Cheers

Does anyone know if anyone has ever got to the talent pool for TfW, but then is never actually offered a job? Or been in the talent pool for 2 years and had to resit the assessments?

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

Thanks again mate. I have been in the talent pool since September 2020 so finished the process as such and just waiting for a course, was thinking that would be dealt with by TfW now, not Acorn wouldn't it?

Transport for Wales - Trainee Train Drivers

Thanks wobman. I must admit the hardest part of the process for me has been the waiting, and the total lack of any meaningful communication with HR. I understand they must be extremely busy in these unprecedented times, but would it have hurt to send a blanket email to everyone in the process...

    TEA-occ train driver test method(s)

I wouldn't focus too much on downloaded software results. I used them also, some I found quite difficult, but passed the assessment ok. I would just concentrate on them as practice. I'm not even sure they would know what the official pass mark is anyway. Also while being similar downloaded...

    TEA-occ train driver test method(s)

I don't think it matters, I went down the columns for what it's worth, but I think you get scored on amount attempted versus mistakes.
