    2023 Israel - Hamas war

All I'll say is Hamas were the ones who decided to use innocent peoples' homes to install their infrastructure. On the other hand, the IDF probably do possess (and should have used) different and safer means to stop Hamas from using it any further. I've also decided at this point, after some...

    2023 Israel - Hamas war

I've already said I agree this whole situation is tragic and unacceptable. For those on both sides. However, it is Hamas who have put the lives and homes of those they claim to represent at risk in the first place. These buildings would not have been destroyed if Hamas did not use them as...

    2023 Israel - Hamas war

The reason Israel is destroying these buildings is because Hamas use them as bases. Israel has provided a warning for residents to evacuate and allowed for that to happen. It is not, as far as I know, a war crime to destroy empty buildings which are legitimate military targets. It is tragic...

    2023 Israel - Hamas war

Palestine Tower was used a base by Hamas. Look at the antennae on the roof. Residents were warned to evacuate before the building was destroyed. If you take issue with it being destroyed, then I suggest you do so with Hamas. They're the ones who set up bases in residential areas.

    2023 Israel - Hamas war

My best friend and three of his daughters (13, 10 and 9 years old) are Jewish. He, his eldest and other members of their local Jewish community regularly receive anti-semitic abuse. None of them condone Israel's actions against Palestine. It is beyond shameful that in this day and age, Jewish...

    2023 Israel - Hamas war

Innocent Israeli civilians have been abducted, raped and murdered by these barbarians. For what? Those responsible for these heinous acts must be punished by a neutral party within international law. I agree Israel and Netanyahu are far from innocent in all of this. But if they simply defend...

(Reasonable) Features you'd like to see implemented on RailUK Forums

One thing I've noticed is posts with "edited by moderator", but no explanation. Personally, I think it'd be helpful to know why a post has been edited.

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

Questioning the intelligence of voters is not helpful or constructive. But go on then, I'll ask. Who are those with "more than a modicum of intelligence" going to vote for? 1696594751 It's very worrying, to be honest. Unfortunately, Sunak's reluctance to dismiss her means she'll probably...

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

Completely agree on all counts. I think we've also been shown who the real "snowflakes" are.

Confirmed : HS2 West Midlands-Manchester line to be scrapped and replaced with other projects.

These are Conservative "promises". Labour is under no obligation to deliver any of them.

Confirmed : HS2 West Midlands-Manchester line to be scrapped and replaced with other projects.

So in typical Conservative fashion, to try and save or better spend public money, they might end up having to spend more anyway. You couldn't make it up.

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

As a gay man, I applaud Andrew Boff for challenging Braverman's vile anti-LGBT+ views. The fact he was ejected and then called "silly" by Braverman for doing so is an absolute disgrace. Party of free speech? Yeah, I don't think so.

Confirmed : HS2 West Midlands-Manchester line to be scrapped and replaced with other projects.

This isn't a money saving exercise. It's reallocating HS2 Phase 2 funds to other projects. I can tell you now, theoretically, they'll have cost a lot more than £36 billion if they were all delivered. The small caveat to this announcement though is the Conservatives know they won't be in...

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

The Conservatives have put this country into over £2 trillion of debt. It's never been that high under Labour. They've borrowed more money in thirteen years than ALL previous Labour governments combined. I note you've conveniently omitted the fact Conservative and Liberal Democrat councils...

    Sir Michael Gambon RIP

Dreadfully sad news. Sir Michael was one of my favourite actors of all time. You've summed him up perfectly, in my view. Absolutely agree he was an acting great. For me, his standout performances were The Singing Detective, Longitude and Perfect Strangers. Fabulous. Rest in peace, Sir Michael.

Rishi Sunak and the Conservative Party.

If there was anything that highlights what a joke the honours system is, it's this. The man has done absolutely nothing to deserve a title. Neither has Priti Patel, for that matter.

    Rugby Union

The Springboks were awful last night. They lost 11 of 14 points from the tee with their dreadful kicking, plus a number of try scoring chances were lost. Ireland far less wasteful, so deserved winners. Can they go past the quarters though? 1695568632 I thought we were excellent yesterday. A...

    Rugby Union

An absolutely magnificent fourteen try performance from France. Take a bow, Les Bleus. Their deserved 96-0 win is now their outright record. Hopefully the injury to Antoine Dupont, a joy to watch as always, is not serious. Also of note, Charles Ollivon, who stepped up as captain, scored...
