"Having utterly failed to make any impact in the real world the anti Hs2 campaign’s increasingly become a cyber campaign that’s almost totally reliant on social media to try and get its message out.

Their problem is – they’re mostly shouting at each other."

Is that entire blog just aimed at picking on Anti-HS2 people?
Why would anyone pick on the other group in that way? Why not just say why HS2 might be good if they feel like that.
Alot of Anti HS2 people have geniune concerns ranging from reduced train services, higher fares, economic hardship, or just a bad design on the network. They don't deserve this kind of press any more than pro-HS2 people.

All that said, they are alot of fake accounts on social media all over the place.

I think the blog critisms are mainly directed at those that falsely claim the importance of the project to the electorate, the chances of preventing the bill getting through parliament, and the merits of alternative proposals. The standard of debate by individuals and organisations mentioned in the blog is considerably lower than would be tolerated on this forum.

Precisely. I'm highlighting several things. One is the dishonesty of their tactics and the reason why they fail (which is a lesson for other campaigns). Another is how laughably transparent their tactics are.

Those with genuine concerns over HS2 are often overshadowed by the anti mob whose main goal it would seem is to cause trouble in the inaccurate and blatant way they go about it. The publicity stunts get on my nerves when it has been reported in the past about this mob turning up at meetings HS2 with the express intention of disrupting it

MOURNERS held a mock funeral to mark the death of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at a public meeting last night - prompting a walkout of HS2 bosses

The above is an example and the anti-HS2 mob may feel they have got their "point" across but what about those who attended the meeting who had genuine concerns they wanted to voice?

Quite. Their scaremongering tactics have caused genuine distress to some people affected by Hs2 who've fallen for their deceits about how Hs2 will 'destroy' the Chilterns & countryside. They've talked down peoples house prices & made things worse for people - not better.
