I have an Annual Gold Card which expires in July, and I plan to buy a new 26-30 Railcard just before my Annual Gold Card runs out, as my 31st birthday is in August.

Is it still not possible to use the £10 offer to buy a 26-30 Railcard with an Annual Gold Card?

The discounted Railcard offer is, apparently, only available via station booking offices, so no.

I'll note that the Gold Card info handily doesn't mention discounted 26-30 Railcards, presumably for this exact reason:

Yes. You can buy 1 of the following 1-year Railcards for just £10, either for yourself or someone else:
  • 16-25 Railcard
  • Disabled Persons Railcard
  • Family & Friends Railcard
  • Network Railcard
  • Senior Railcard
  • Two Together Railcard
You can can apply for a Railcard at the National Rail station where you bought your Annual Season ticket. If you bought your Annual Season ticket online, or you have a Gold Record Card, you can apply at a National Rail station within the Annual Gold Card area.

However, the Gold Card terms does not contain a list of railcards and instead says:

12) You can buy one discounted one year national or Network Railcard for £10, subject to the relevant eligibility criteria, during the validity of your Annual Gold Card for either Yourself or someone else

I'm sure @miklcct will enjoy their battle to get the 26-30 Railcard they are, in theory, entitled to!

Out of interest, how are these issued at stations? Is there a sundry for this purpose?
There are six separate products priced at £10 instead of £30, and with AGC added to the description. Slightly odd that the Disabled Persons Railcard is included, given that also can't be issued at stations.

The Gold Card should be endorsed on the back when one is issued, and it should also be recorded in the Season Ticket database, so as to reduce the chance of one person applying for multiple discounted Railcards against the same ticket.

How about the other railcards not listed among these 6, like the Veterans Railcard?

I'll send a customer service enquiry to my Gold Card retailer to begin with, for my case as the only national railcard I'm eligible for is a 26-30 railcard.

If these requirements were relaxed (particularly endorsing the back of the card - how does this work for a digital Gold Record Card?), or there was some other way to mark the offer as being used electronically, I wonder if there would be appetite to allow online railcard retailers to offer it.

for a digital Gold Record Card
Isn't the point of a Gold Record Card that they're all physical? (I have since been informed there is a spec for digital ones too, but I don't think anyone uses these yet?)

These have spaces to be endorsed on the rear (or at least enough blank space to write something as far as I can recall), too, so I assume the same practice would take place here where the customer must present their Gold Record Card to be eligible to make use of the offer.
