£15,000 improvements for Chinley station complete

Have they fixed the platform edges yet? Last time I was through parts were still cordoned off.

Good news is in December when I'm awaiting the first EMT of the day to Warrington in -10C cold I won't freeze to death in the previously terrible shelter. :D

I have to agree with you there.. I've spent much time waiting for trains at Chinley in the freezing cold when the previously pathetic shelter did nothing to keep you warm/dry.

£15,000 does sound like a lot of money to spend on a relatively quiet station.

However, in this day of excessive railway costs £15,000 probably only buys you a lick of paint and a replacement bus shelter...

in Chinleys case 15k paid for a help point and...2 doors on the Shelter whooopeeee lol
