Hi,

Does anyone know how I would go about wiring up blue flashing roof lights and headlights on '00' gauge emergency vehicles?

Thanks

What kind of size, space availability and look would you like for it?

I'm not too clued up on the scales of 'OO' Gauge vehicles.

(Will be a nice break from train wiring...)

OO is definitely 1:76 (excepting for it's use of HO (1:72) track).

Track gauge for both HO and OO is 16.5mm.

This is more or less true to scale for HO (which is 3.5mm to 1') but narrow for OO. (16.5mm/4mm=4.125. and 4.125' is 4' 1.5")

The reason for the apparent anomoly of running on "narrow gauge" is largely historic.

When OO was being developed, O gauge was king and motors small enough to fit in something half the size of O were not practical, so although the track was half the gauge of O, a bit more room was needed inside locos, and in addition, the wheels needed a bit more clearance too, so 4mm to the foot rather than 3.5 was deemed best.
