0516 from Chesham

This was originally in the Trip Planning section, but I've reposted it here, where it is perhaps better placed.

In the summer of 2021, I attempted the 'Tube Challenge', starting on the 0516 train from Chesham. However, this train was cancelled, as far as I know due to COVID, resulting in us running more and more late during the day, in the end having to come back a few days later to finish the journey. I'm thinking about making another attempt this summer. Does anyone know if the 0516 is now running? (the train is showing in the Metropolitan line timetable - but it was last time, so I'm doubtful over whether that's correct). Thanks.

It is worth bearing in mind that trains can be cancelled at any time for any reason, so just because it is in the timetable it still may not run.

Summer 2021 saw several special timetables in use in part due to Covid but mainly due to staff shortages.

The 0516 ex-Chesham is a fairly reliable runner as it comes out of Ricky sidings with a night driver, but obviously can’t be guaranteed.

There are quite a few timetable changes on the Met this summer though around SMA8, including a fairly significant performance risk due to the changeover at Finchley Road once it goes live at the end of the month.

Yes, of course I realise it’s possible for any train to be cancelled - I just seem to remember there being a sign at Chesham in 2021 about it being more of a long-term cancellation at the time

I'm afraid I don't quite understand what is meant by this.
