150136 52 end failed today at Wallgate with some kind of water problem and the driver said it was being put in the sidings but i went past the sidings on the next kirkby train and it wasn't there? any ideas where it went to?

What time was this? It was out all day until 1720 Wigan Wallgate - MCV, then was ripped and went to Newton Heath.

this was on the previous Victoria-Wallgate terminator it left Wallgate at 5 past 5 it was blocking wallgate platform 2 for 15 minutes whilst the driver filled it with water from 2 watering cans.

Ah. As above, it worked 1720 to MCV, then went onto Newton Heath, presumably for investigation/repair.

but did it go into a siding or what as it was nowhere to be seen west of wallgate which puzzles me how it formed the 5:20 the driver said he lost four minutes off just the 57 end powering it.

Was it that unit? It made the shunt move to the sidings @ 16:48 (2 late), having arrived as 2F81 (4 late), the majority of which was unexplained delay, and no reference to engine problems. It then returned to Man Vic as 2J00 (as correctly mentioned) arriving 2 late into Man Vic - delayed in the Salford area by a class 1.

However the following Wigan terminator (2F85 - 16:04 ex Rochdale) arrived 17 late having suffered engine problems from Salford Crescent (unit: 150269) which was swapped for 156454 between Bolton and Wigan Wallgate (the 156 being formed off the 16:48 Wigan - Rochdale service.

it was definitely 150136 or patchwork as i call it thanks to its patchwork paintjob on the unit. it left at least 7 late as the arrival from kirkby on the opposite platform had left wallgate before said unit had departed.

i was aboard a 150/2 on the following kirkby departure on a standing load.
