3 hours in Santander on a Friday early afternoon

Our train from Bilbao is due to arrive at 11:42 and we leave for Ribadesella at 15:28 so we have about three hours to find some lunch and also have a quick look around. We will have wheeled luggage so don't want to walk too far but it looks like we could walk down to the waterside area to watch the ships coming and going.

Anyone any other suggestions - or suggestions of places to eat from those who have spent a little time around Santander station?

Go to the beach.

It is a bit of a step to the beach, but worthwhile - it is approached through a tunnel. There are left luggage facilities at the bus station - opposite the rail stations but underground. The cathedral is worth a look too.
