I'm at Crianlarich where my train to Oban is delayed due to a 66 blocking the down loop having been derailed on trap points. Staff tell me the driver got a token but didn't set the ground frame.

True, in the picture it looks like a train may be able to pass, but probably too tight to risk.

Seems to have been resolved remarkably quickly. The Oban and Mallaig portions at 1015 and 1021 left about half an hour late, but two hopur later the 1233 to Oban left only six minutes late (and it had already picked up most of that delay an hour before)
Or are all services able to use the up loop?

Where is the errant 66 now?

All services are able to use the up loop, the only problem is when services were due to pass each other at Crianlarich, as a passing place on the single track line.

Which, looking at RTT, seems to only happen once per day - being the train you've identified as running half an hour late.

So I don't think this will mean that the loco necessarily will have been moved yet. Staff at Crianlarich commented that the soft, rain-soaked ground made jacking it back rather difficult.

The timings are consistent with having crossed at Ardlui instead of Crianlarich.

The errant loco appears to have been Wednesday's 0S96, Mossend to Crianlarich and return (arr 0858, dep 1500, actual arrival 0942, departure cancelled).

Now rerailed and back in Crianlarich Sidings.
