Some weeks ago, I decided with a friend to spend a weekend in Split. Finally we left on 22nd August and stayed until sunday 24th August, now here is the first part of the photos:
I was suprised to see 5145 "Blauer Blitz" in Wien Südbahnhof with a charter train. The train in the left will take us to Bratislava:
After we arrived in Bratislava we had about four hours of time, we used them to take some photos around the station:
We found this bridge after a walk of about two kilometres:
After we bought enough beer for the afternoon, we boarded our train to Split (via Rajka, Györ, Papá, Celldömöl, Szombathely, Nagykanisza, Koprivninca, Zagreb):
The followong pictures were taken in the afternoon on the way between Bratislava and Nagykanisza:
departure from Györ:
Szombathely:
Even the children enjoyed the long train ride (from 12:40-6:20):
After a "comfortable" night on the sleeper (the berths weren't much better than wooden planks) we alighted in Kastel Stari, about 20 minutes before Split.
This train is used for all the stopper services between Split and Perkovic (there are some additional trains between Split and Kastel Stari too, formed of a unit)
The second sleeper from Zagreb to Split came by some minutes later:
That's a seasonal train from Beograd to Split, running each Saturday during the summer period:
That's the unit which is running between Split and Kastel Stari:
lot's of thrash?
no, just a "small" tyre fire
At least we got one double headed freight train:
ICN Split-Zagreb:
The regional service to Perkovic again:
The train from Split to Beograd should though each second, but it didn't came. After about 30 minutes, we went down to the station, where we found the train waiting for the signal (the line was closed due to a lineside fire, caused by a freight train).
Finally, it departed about two hours late. The enigne started to cool down during the long wait
:
The sleeper from Split to Zagreb is ready to depart Split: (the Czech through coaches to Praha are on the rear)
Now some shots from the evening in Split:
Hope you enjoyed all the pics, part two will come soon!
