There is a footbridge about half way along the platforms at London Charing Cross which allows in the morning rush hours only, direct access to Northumberland Avenue. It has Oyster/contactless readers but no barriers.
Does anyone know if the readers come in automatically at 07:30, the official opening time or need to be specially turned on? The exit was open at 07:28 this morning but the readers were off.
If automatic I can understand why they weren’t working; if manual I would have hoped that they were turned in when the footbridge exit was opened each day.
