Hello,

I wasn't sure who to ask as when I tweeted AGA's twitter account they also weren't sure.

But...

With the cheaper advanced tickets, instead of buying them online, can they be purchased at a local ticket office?

Thanks in advance! (No pun intended)

In general yes. You won't receive online discounts however (eg EMT offer £1 off their own advances online).

Thanks for your reply, basically, A while ago (the day of the final pretendo run down to euston) I travelled to Birmingham earlier in the day with a view to catching it back down to Euston. On the trip up there, none of the seat reservation systems were set up, I complained to Virgin as the TM just grunted and shrugged his shoulders at me when I asked where I should sit and they sent me a £20 rail voucher to apologise.

I was hoping to use this to buy some advance tickets.

So in theory this should be possible?

Thanks again.

I would probably use the ticket office at Harwich International as it is manned and the man who works there is incredibly helpful everytime I see him :) but I was hoping to book An advance single to London and another for the return for the end of this week.

Thanks

Rail Travel Vouchers are an accepted method of payment for any train ticket, whether it's advance, off-peak, anytime or a rover.

Depending on the station, there may be restrictions on the times you will be able to buy advance tickets; this is to stop advance purchases clogging up the queue and making peak travellers miss their train.

However, this does not apply to Harwich, and you can buy your advance ticket there no problem.
Other stations may be different and you can find full details here.

That file is out of date.
You should use http://www.atoc.org/about-atoc/rail-settlement-plan/governance/ which takes you to the governance page and then follow the link to the latest Schedule 17 file.
