This Friday I will be landing at Milan Malpensa at around 1440. I’m going to buy a Trenord day ticket. I will be departing Milano Centrale at 2115 on the ICN 765 to Taranto.

I’d like to use the intervening time to travel on the locomotive hauled regional services out of Centrale, and possibly do a bit of filming too. However, although I’ve seen the loco hauled commuter trains, I’m not sure which lines/destinations they run on/to.

Can anyone provide information about which lines are loco hauled, and suggest a pleasant destination that I can travel to on them, with some opportunities for filming loco hauled trains (whether passenger or freight, and the more the merrier) at the destination and then have a decent service back to Milano Centrale for my sleeper train to the South.

Thanks for your assistance! :)
