After sitting for 7 years, it has finally turned a wheel under it's own power.
Powered by Gardner 6L3, our Andrew Barclay of 1956 is finally mechanically fit.
Now all that's out of the way all that needs done is for it to be repainted which should hopefully be finished within this year.

More about 399:
Built by AB for Pumpherston Oil Company and then sold to BP in Grangemouth where it received numbered 7.
In 1981 the locomotive was saved by Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group based at Minnivey
where then in 2005, it was transferred to Waterside or Scottish Industrial Railway Centre (now Doon Valley Railway).
The locomotive was then withdrawn some time later as a long term restoration project which now,
is reaching the final stages as the essential mechanical/safety work has already been carried out.
