Being thick, but does anyone know if you can take a printed photo in to a shop and get copies made.

Haven’t got the digital file or neqitive. But need a few copies of the photo or maybe enlarged.
Yes, you can get printed copies and an electronic copy of a print.

Sunday 3/3/19

Planned to go to Taunton to see the class 47 hauled railtour, arriving at my usual spot and checking RTT I found out it had ran early. With no other trains due for another 15 mins, I’d headed to the M5 services as there is a McDonald’s but also a footbridge that crosses the motorway. I spent an hour photographing Lorries and buses. Very quiet, with only a few interesting things going along the motorway.

Not done much rail related activity lately, I did have the chance to visit my employers Hertige Centre marking 100 years of operation. Looking forward to class 55, 50 and 68/88 railtours to photograph over the coming months and the usual Sunday steam tours thru the south west.

Seeing this old Merc bought back loads of memories.
IMG_0621.JPG

When I was 17 I was an apprentice for Maddern Transport in Exeter and we ran loads of similar Mercs along with quite a few Scania 112s and a DAF wrecker.

We had a yard shunter which I used to drive around.IMG_0623.JPG
(Not my photos)
I loved the old Mercs though, they were as tough as old boots, and you could change a cylinder head (a piston too I think) by the side to get the truck home.
Gregory's were and still are a classic south west haulage company.

Are Maddern Transport still around. So many seem to have been lost or taken over.

Feel free to visit the heritage centre, although it is by appointment only. Monday to Friday only I think.

I’m hoping to be able help out should the vehicles go to a truck show.

That'd be good fun.
I'm not sure with Madderns. It's probably fair to say they weren't the most professional outfit at times and they certainly did lose their license for a while. I think they have finished now

I’ve just realised that my warehouse sits on the former S+D carriage works at Highbridge.

Part of the yard of Gregory warehouse sits on former goods yard S+D station at Shepton Mallet,

And the former trackbed of the ESR (East Somerset Railway) curves around another of our Warehouses.

Great to meet you at the truck show on Saturday mate.
We had to get back home in the afternoon, but I’ll pm you if you’re still on here.

Great to meet you too. Sorry wasn’t really feeling that well Saturday, made social interaction slightly difficult. Twas combination of Hayfever and tidiness from watching 4 episodes of game of thrones the night before.

The Merc looks amazing out in the sun ☀️

I’ve seen a few full sets out and about this week.
Where did you get one?
Got on at Taunton as far as Exeter and back on a 800. Got back to Taunton just in time to see the last ever HST from Paddington arrive and leave.

Thankfully still got castle class and XC HST so HST125 lives on.
