What is happening to the yard next to arbroath station, there are still a number of sidings left in place and even a rusty crane, all fenced off.

Given that the 1610 Glasgow QST to dundee service gets extended to arbroath from December, where will the train run empty to form the extended 1842 dundee to Edinburgh service at 1819? Run into a new platform 3 (next to the old yard) or crossover north of the station?

Open Train Times has 5L52 turning back at Arbroath Crossover.

It would take a lot of work to bring a third platform back into use.
