Hi,
Im have just applied for an arriva bus apprenticeship scheme near to me. I have recieved a letter off them that said I have to go for an aptitude test in july, if this is passed, I will then have to have an interview. OK. Does anybody know whats involved in these aptitude tests? What kind of questions are they? and what the appreticeship will be like? Thanks ;)

Ooooh bus apprenticeships, that takes me back. Being an apprentice electrician in the 80's in Newcastle I can just about remember my aptitude test. The test as I recall was a series of multiple choice questions on a piece of paper and a few questions that you had to write down the answer.
The only question I can remember clearly was about sounding a horn in a tunnel - will it be louder, quieter or the same. Can't remember what I put now but I passed the test anyway and got the job. Most of the questions were just common sense if I recall though.

My apprenticeship lasted 4 years and was only on electrical work. This included block release and day release to a technical college. The first year was 2 x 10 week blocks, the second year was 3 x 6 week blocks. The 3rd year was 2 x 4 weeks and day release in between, the 4th year was only day release with 1 night also. It was also common practice to attend college for the first year after the apprenticeship finished so I went to college for 5 years. The 5th year was 1 day and 1 night per week.

It was a while ago though so things may have changed a tad since then.

I wont mention the torturing and forced carol singing tied to a long pole whilst being smeared with various lubricants during the first Christmas however. That might put you off a little.:lol:

Ah happy days....:lol::lol:
