I applied for the Trainee Conductor at Liverpool. I passed the initial stage i.e. the application and was given the opportunity to go to the next stage which was a series of numerical tests. Unfortunately I didnt reach the required standard. I have to say I was suprised at how difficult the numerical tests were. I guess having not done any maths since my GCSE's 21 years ago doesnt help but wow I found them quite tricky for a conductors position. Im disapppointed that they base a failure purely on not reaching the standard for maths. I thought they would consider other factors such as academic qualifications, work experience, interviews etc.
Is this the same throughout the industry and does anybody know of any maths/numerical material you can buy to help me for potential future applications.
