The answer is yes - I refer you to the Austrian section of the RSTL "Travel in Europe using FIP facilities" document:

For travel on long-distance trains designated ‘IC’, ‘ICE’, ‘EC’ and ‘RJ’ a supplement of €15 (1st class) or €10 (2nd class) must be made. Tickets to cover this are valid for the same period as an FIP coupon dated box (i.e.maximum 48 hours) and are available both at ÖBB ticket offices and from conductors on the trains concerned. The supplement does not include reservations. These must be made and paid for separately. When buying FIP discounted tickets for ÖBB services, a service charge is levied on on-train payments.

Thanks,

How much are reservations now?

I'll be booking 4 for us but my lad will be paying the public fare as he is now working and doesn't get Priv anymore :(

Thanks.

I may give Rail Canterbury a call to see if I can get a ballpark on my lads ticket. (I did look on the OBB site and quoted €19 to go there and €39 to come back)

It's awkward now he doesn't get the Privs … LOL mind you has a good job to can pay for himself LOL

Seat reservations currently cost €3 and can be booked online at https://tickets.oebb.at/en/ticket
Just fill in where you want to go, make sure you've selected the right date and click on the Seat only option. Payment can be done by credit card, PayPal or online bank transfer.

As Bletchleyite already mentioned seat reservations are optional.

Cheers,

I would prefer to reserve as the trains from Wien Hbf to Klagenfurt Hbf (and v.v) are every 2 hours so want seats together :)

Thanks for the help all.
