Hi

Does anyone know if these tickets are valid for travel on intercity/ICE services within Berlin e.g. between Sudkreuz and Spandau?

Thanks,
Jim.

No they're not, although there is a (tiny) list of exceptions that I've seen pinned to a noticeboard behind the information booth at Berlin Hauptbahnhof - I'll have a quick look and see if I can find it online. They are generally just very early morning / late night services when there is not a frequent RE/RB regional train service.

The English language pages of either the VBB or DB's S-Bahn web sites make no mention of specific validity but on the German pages mention is made of 'S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams, regional express or regional bahn, ferry or bus' so my guess would be that the answer to your question is no.
Why not use the contact form on the VBB web site and get it from the Pferdes mouth?

Thanks all for the replys so far. :)

I have contacted DB on their Twitter to see what happens.

Another question, is the ticket also valid on 'private' TOCs what run within the VBB zones, eg. OE, Arriva, etc?

Thanks,
Jim.

Yes it is on the regular private operators that run all week, but not on the Harz Express trains that run at weekends.

When buying tickets from the Machines there is a "mit IC/ICE" option but IIRC it was only on point to point tickets and they were more expensive then the VBB passes.
