Hi,
On realtimetrains, there is often a service operating from Bescot TMD to Bescot TMD. It is very rare that this service runs, but if it did, does anybody have an idea what it would be? It also follows an unusual route, moving back and forth between London and the north (around Stafford).
Here is a link that shows the route: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/H37015/2016/06/19/advanced
Thanks :)

It's a path for a seasonal RHTT (RailHead Treatment Train);
just one of many such trains which operate in October and
November each year.

This particular train is operated by top and tail DB 66s;
here is a picture of it reversing at Macclesfield:

it runs often - just not at this time of year ;) it is designed to spray the leafy gunk off the track and keep trains running. It wanders about as it must clean up and down and fast and slow lines, especially into Euston.

It runs down our line a couple of times a week - i think mainly to keep int out of the way!
