Best Spotting Locations Around Doncaster

Are you spotting or photting?
There's a number of out-of-the-way locations inside and outside the Potteric Carr nature reserve, for unusual photos, but not necessarily as good as the station for sheer number of trains. And further north, around Joan Croft junction, there are plenty of photo locations. Take your wellies though, as it's all quite low-lying and can be very muddy this time of year.

Spotting with a mate, we heard about Potteric Carr , is that where the Gainsborough line leaves the ECML ?

Sort of: between all the yards (Decoy) and where the Gainsborough line leaves, also including the line from Worksop/Maltby into Doncaster and over the top to Kirk Sandall.
Not sure if you'll see that much traffic that doesn't already go through the station, but it's an interesting area regardless.
