Blackburn Depot information

Can anyone help confirm the class of trains/ routes working out of Blackburn as i have a interview next week.

I believe it's Class 150,156 and new class 195 and they run routes to Clitheroe, Rochdale, Colne, Blackpool North/South, York and Preston.

Is this as Driver for Northern? If so, when did you apply please and did you already have your tests passed prior to applying?

applied last year and got a email inviting me to interview. I've just done the OPC paper tests on Friday with GB Freight waiting for my results.

142, 150, 153, 156, 158. No 195s.

Routes are Blackburn King St depot, Man Vic via Darwen and via Todmorden, Clitheroe, Colne, Blackpool South and Ormskirk. No York or Blackpool North.

Many thanks, what else do you think they'll want to know about the depot? I've info on the new depot.

There's not much to say really, it's a new depot opened in 2017, it has a large proportion of newly qualified drivers as well as those experienced drivers who transferred from other depots such as Manchester Piccadilly/Victoria, Wigan & Blackpool. There are about 60 drivers based there, all the work they do was previously done by other depots (Manchester Vic and Blackpool) although those depots do retain some of that work.

There's probably more mileage in swotting up on general company/corporate information rather than the specifics of depot information which could be a bit niche and they won't expect detailed knowledge so it's unlikely to be scored.

You'll probably also be better off revising for your interview answers to questions such as "give us an example of a time when..."
