Seeing as someone locked the other thread I’ll have to post this in here.

There are categorically no toilets at Bradford Forster Square, so my point still stands regarding the lack of facilities for a busy four-platform station.

It is disgraceful that Northern thinks that we are okay with this.

Isn't there a toilet accessible by wheelchair users (RADAR key required) when Bradford Forster Square station is open/staffed?
No, that toilet hasn't been working for months.

How hard is it for Northern to build and provide accessible toilets for passengers at a busy station?

Try talking to the people of Lea Green an others going through works, you could be waiting a long time

I’m impressed how quick it went from an announcement saying it would be built, to it actually opening

Normally with the rail industry you can add about 10 years in the middle for even the simplest of projects

But yes, improved facilities at Forster Square such as toilets and more than scruffy little shop should be next

Seems crazy that such an important station has no toilets!
Up until yesterday the 'importance' is arguable.

Forster Square still largely handles local services, not long distance where many passengers can be expected to arrive early for a service or are on through connections where a wait at the station is required.

Northern don't/won't even provide proper platform-side toilet facilities at Manchester Victoria, their flagship station, so what hope is there for Forster Square?

Is there much platform-side at Man Vic anyway? It's been a while since I've been there.

On Forster Square:
  • Does Northern know that the toilet is out of order?
  • And if so, who is pressuring them to get it fixed?
  • And if no-one, who do we need to get to do the pressuring?
Us complaining here won't get it fixed; AVRUG or BRUG (if either is still going) could talk to a friendly reporter at the T&A and get the issue noticed.

But Victoria does have toilets and a roof.

Point taken you need to go past the barriers.
Only having toilets outside the barriers has two significant drawbacks:

Firstly, they're more susceptible to vandalism and will get in a worse state.
Secondly, when changing trains, some tickets are not valid for a break of journey and others, which are, may not work the barriers. So would be toilet users may have to argue with barrier staff to be let out and in again (and according to fairly frequent posts on these forums this is a real issue).

Nottingham station, which has a similar number of platforms and passengers per year compared to Manchester Victoria (and a tram stop, same as Victoria!), has two full sets of toilets inside the barriers and one outside.
