I received my new Bramble card for the Glasgow Subway Today and just had a few questions that I've been unable find out online.

Firstly I understand that I can also use my card on Scot rail, I assume for this I add buy my ticket on the app then touch my card on the back of my phone in order to add my ticket.

Secondly can I use my card to card for travel outside Scotland, for example a ticket from Birmingham to Manchester bought through the Scotrail app then loaded to my Bramble card?

According to SPT, ScotRail tickets can only be loaded on registered Subway cards.

However, I have previously loaded and used a ScotRail return ticket onto an unregistered Subway card.

Whether this is still possible, I'm not sure.

If you already have a ScotRail (or another supported) smartcard, there's not much value in having a Subway card as well unless you want to load a long-term season ticket onto it.

You can load Subway PAYG credit and season tickets (up to 28 days) onto the other cards.

My Subway card is on my phone, do you get reward subs with tickets?

I assume this is an attempt at humour on your part.

However, as this thread is in a Rail Fares Advice & Policy forum, it's worth mentioning that the smartcard the OP refers to is officially called a Subway Smartcard.

https://www.spt.co.uk/tickets/subway-smartcard/

With a Subway Smartcard you’ll get access to the best Subway ticket prices; whether that's our 10-week ticket or topping up with PAYG.

At some point in the past, it was referred to as a Bramble card.
