Break in ticket on The Key.

With a paper anytime day return from Chatham to Gatwick airport I know that I can split my journey anywhere along the route. Does this still work with the Key? My friends are delayed by approx 12 hours so I have time to kill and would be useful.

Also, is my ticket valid via Strood and Tonbridge?

If you hold the same ticket on a smartcard it will have the same validity.
