Bristol to Heathrow T5

I may well be making a reasonably early morning journey from Bristol to Heathrow T5. I need to be there before 10am and will only be carrying light luggage (so changes and walking are ok, but not too much!).

I think that my best bet is to get an advance single (£17) to Slough and a local bus from there, but I've never done this journey before so any local advice would be really helpful.

I know that there is a direct coach service from Bristol, but that's far too expensive, as is the Railair bus from Reading. It's also only £19 for a first-class advance single, which I am sure will be much more comfortable than the coach!
Does anyone have other suggestions?

train to London paddington then Heathrow express/connect to Heathrow.

i think the first train from Bristol to London is about 04:45

Thanks, that does look like the best option at the moment; I make it 6 minutes slower than going to Paddington and getting the Heathrow Express - but £18 cheaper. The Heathrow connect is a more reasonable price, but with having to change to get to T5, it's a fair bit slower.
