Hi,
Without wanting to waste too much of anyone's time, I was puzzled by the identity of the bus in the TK Maxx advert. The styling makes me think of central or eastern Europe, 1960's perhaps? The advert is to be shown in a number of European countries as well as the the UK, although the street scene looks like a pastiche of New York to me.

For those who haven't seen it, or want a closer look, the advert can be found by scrolling down here: https://lbbonline.com/news/vivid-musical-number-explains-how-to-tk-maxx-the-right-way/

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Looks more like a model or CGI to me.

You may well be right - I have realised that on the link I posted to the scene of it driving up the square does look very unreal. This opening scene does not appear on the UK advert whenever I've seen it on the TV, the bus being only visible parked in the background later in the ad.

It still looks a very oddly-styled vehicle to use in a contemporary setting in what I think is supposed to looks like an American scene (think Sesame Street). I presume even if it is a model or CGI it is based on a prototype - unless somebody out there has a very creative imagination!

I agree that the opening looked like CGI, I would have said a model shot if the human figures hadn't been walking as well. Looking at the rest of the ad I think that it is meant to "look" American rather than to be a current American vehicle. A bit like an American ad using a rear entrace red bus to give an impression of London,.

It does bear striking resemblance to a Russian PAZ bus (one of the older versions), though that would be a strange model of bus to go for in an American-style setting.

The shape made me think of the stereotypical roadside diner. Of course it might just have been the first suitable bus image that the designer found in the CGI equivalent of clipart.

It is indeed a PAZ 672, I’ve been on quite a few, they’re definitely “survivors”

Excellent, thank you for that. I could certainly see a vague stylistic similarity with some of the older vehicles I've encountered in Prague, hence my thoughts of central or eastern Europe in the OP, although I hadn't perhaps thought as far east as Russia.
