I work for a Brighton-based radio and TV production company called Pier Productions. We make some of the short films for BBC One's The One Show.
We are developing a piece for The One Show on Winston Churchill's Funeral Train Journey, as told by rail enthusiasts.
The train ran from Waterloo to Oxfordshire on 30th January 1965.
We are looking for amateur footage of Churchill's funeral train taken by enthusiasts. This could include: 8mm/35mm size or photographs.
Along with the footage, we want to hear the memories/stories of the people who got this footage.
If this is you, please get in touch with [email protected]
We would love to hear from you asap (30/10/2024)
Nina

Sorry Nina, I can remember it well enough but no film or photographs. I watched on TV like most others. I do remember trying to work out the route from the TV coverage, which I think was the obvious one of Latchmere Junction and the West London Extension to West London Junction on the GWML.

The train ran via Staines and Wokingham and crossed to the GW at Reading
