Chiltern 168s in Shrewsbury

Should be a 168 football special tomorrow from Shrewsbury for the play off final. Cant remember the time off hand. Class 168s now have clearance on all of WSMR routes.

now that is interesting, can't say im that suprised, its aggod idea just in case there is a shortage of servicable stock at w&s then chiltern may supply any spare stock.

as 168's are cleared into new street i suppose its only from there to shrewsbury needed clearing.

Everything has been done, The Grands round the back of Brum, up to Wrexham, Chester and over to Crewe.

suppose it was not a great deal to do as 170's will of been cleared on these routes previously? 168+170 same size/length/width/height are not they?

The 168 left full, two other W/S specials also ran from Shrewsbury this morning as well. Good to see a local TOC taking a proactive approach.

From members of the Shrewsbury/Chester rail users Assoc who travelled.

Two four car 168s ran joined as an 8 car set ex Shrewsbury 10.07, plus
Two W/S Footex specials strengthened. 168217 arrived on platform 4b
leading the formation of 8 coaches into Shrewsbury. I have seen the pictures
but can not post them, I am sure Charlie Humes site will show them.

I ahve read somehwere that the dft want chiltern to run more service into the shropshire area.

it would be nice if chiltern where to take over the cambrain coast services, probably get better trains and a more reliable service

Shropshire is possible,the Local M.Ps want Chiltern, but Cambrian is a no,no due to Politics ATW the All Wales Franchise have the sole restrictive rights. with its claped out 158s.
