Does anyone know the set numbers for the Chiltern 68 sets? The set I'm looking for (68009) hasn't appeared on RTT in the past week. Thanks
They are all Beacon owned, leased to DRS. DRS have a contract to provide locos to Chiltern - 68010-015 are the first choice, with 68008/009 as back ups.As far as I know 68010 - 68015 are the Chiltern units.
All other 68s (including ex-TPE) are with DRS.
I got confused by seeing 68013 on a freight train once but I'm pretty sure it's still a Chiltern unit
Saw 009 on a Chiltern service in September, SpotLog says it's "Chiltern Support"As far as I know 68010 - 68015 are the Chiltern units.

Makes sense. Thanks! There are no set numbers. The locos Chiltern use and liveried for Chiltern are 68010 - 68015.
68008 & 009 have the ability to work Chiltern Trains as they have the right Control systems for the Mk3 coaches and are back up to the main fleet and are in DRS Compass Livery.
All the Chiltern 68's are used for freight as and when they are cycled back to either Crewe Gresty Road or Carlise kingmoor for maintenance.
Chiltern only operate two rakes of Mk3s and the coaches and DVT's are swapped out regularly for maintenance.
Set numbers do t realy exist except for diagsaming purposes.
Just to clarify I answered the way I did as insupect the OP and many others think of the the sets AL01-AL04 as like multiple units that are always the set vehicles for each one. That's why I subtlety said they exisit for diagdamkng reasons but the carriage numbers are not static as they change for maintenance.Set numbers do exist and they are AL01-AL04. AL05 was the blue/grey slam-door set.
The carriages in the sets remain reasonably static aside from maintenance requirements.
The DVTs can be swapped or exchanged, but otherwise can stay attached to the sets for extended periods.
The locos 68008-68015 (as stated) are not attached to set numbers and can be swapped/exchanged as required.
But you also said:Just to clarify I answered the way I did as insupect the OP and many others think of the the sets AL01-AL04 as like multiple units that are always the set vehicles for each one. …which is materially not true.Chiltern only operate two rakes of Mk3s and the coaches and DVT's are swapped out regularly for maintenance so set numbers dont realy exist except for diagsaming purposes and why soem 68s are used on freight.
