172104 returned Sunday, 172102 + 172103 went in.

any ideas on what 104 had done?

I've travelled on both 103 and 104 in the last week. Definitely not been to Doncaster for refurb. In fact to the passenger eye, no difference at all!

most likely mechanical exams taking place then, i imagine when the time comes, interior will be done at Ilford.

To be honest, I know this is sort of speculative, but under the current circumstances, it’d surprise me if they had a refurb at all. As much as they are in need of one.

They definitely need one at some point because they are still in Chiltern colours inside. They vinyled the 172/1 quickly because of the Commonwealth Games last year.

I agree, they're in an awful condition inside, but it wouldn't surprise me if the DfT were blocking it, the 350/3s are still London Midland inside, although they are in a better condition. (of course, so are the 350/2s, but they're meant to go in what seems a million years away)

There's still London Midland branding inside some of the 350/2s, even after over 5 years since LNR took over...

That’s relatively understandable as they’re leaving WMT. They should’ve been gone 2 years ago, but we’re veering off topic now.
