Hi, does anyone have a photo of a Class 318 interior from before the first carmine and cream refurbishment? I haven't found any online.
The class 318s were new before digital photography came along. Most amateur railway photographers did not have camera equipment suitable for photographing train interiors. Your best bet is to find some magazine articles about class 318s when they were introduced. These are likely to include official publicity photographs of train interiors.Hi, does anyone have a photo of a Class 318 interior from before the first carmine and cream refurbishment? Thanks for the reply, I’ll have a look to see what I can find in magazines. The class 318s were new before digital photography came along. Even a trolley service! , shows what a different era we're in now!I've found a document on The Railways Archive with the answer - I searched under 'Ayrline' and found two Scotrail publicity brochures for the start of electric services, both dated 1987, one of which has an interior colour photo:

It's a 12-page document with the interior photo at the bottom right of page 8. Hope it helps!

The second build class 317 interior looked very similar when new, though possibly the grab handles on the seats were a different colour? It's a 12-page document with the interior photo at the bottom right of page 8.
