Ah damn thats a shame, I was hoping to race ahead of it on an EMT services to Luton or Bedford and catch it again. I guess I'll just have to deal with just seeing it once at Gatwick sadly.

Are 217 and 435 still running as booked?
Think the spare two will be replacing the failed 319's as the 15:26 Bedford to Three Bridges is still running as booked.

Three storage moves planned for next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from Bedford. This means they will be no 319's on Thameslink property come September 1

Looks like I'm going to be doing these on the final run from East Croydon to Blackfriars tonight.

Had a final run on the 12.14 Brighton-Gatwick.

The general level of service on the BML today is an embarrassment, with dozens of cancellations including consecutive services to many destinations. Both Thameslink and Southern are impacted. Brighton should be fun between 18.00-22.00, as the day-trippers descend upon the reduced Sunday service.

Approaching Gatwick.. Two sets of 319s have just past each other at speed on the BML for the very last time at Earlswood...

And so it begins.. Le dernier voyage... Just left Brighton and its standing room only onboard in both units, didn't expect such a turnout for the last trip! Big up to the driver for the historical announcements on the way down and equally to control for the farewell CIS message on arrival at Brighton. Not to forget whoever arranged the headboard too.
Can someone just get hold of some flares for the last arrival into Bedford?! :)

You make it sound like an epic time Please Explain! I wish I could have been down there to sample it for the last time. I'm expecting photos and video clips, especially when under the wires for the video! <D

Crikey you make it sound more exciting than Euro cranking!

Cheers Tech,

To be fare though I was being a bit sarcastic, the vast majority of the pax are normals, -at least I think so anyway!
I'm guessing its just so busy because of the bank holiday weekend and with the weather everyone was off to Brighton for the day.
I'm sure it will empty by the time we hit Croydon and the core.

As to more exciting than "Eurotrashi'n"?! NEVER! <D -(said in my best Antoine de Caunes impression!! :D )

It's busy down here in Coach 7! It's busy with day trippers more like enthusiasts but I think when we hit the core it'll empty out.

I'll be making one when I get home, it'll probably be out tomorrow.

Are they thrashing the old gal? Let's hope they really get her up to speed on the AC one last time

Currently at new Blackfriars, 9 early. Had some good high speed runs on the quarry lines and the stretch between Herne Hill and the Elephant. It will shortly be time for what must more than likely be the last ever run of a class 319 on the DC for the short run down the slope to City.

It clocked East Croydon - Blackfriars in just 22 minutes - normally a crawl across the flat junctions of South London.
