I understand that three Class 68s were hauled from Long Marston to Brush today by 69013, does anyone know what they’re going to Loughborough for and whether any more are likely to be heading the same way (or have already done so) please?

From what I've read they are being prepared for life with Chiltern along with mk5 pushpull sets that were briefly used by TPE.

Is that confirmed or speculation?

The fact they’ve moved these to Loughborough must mean something.

Unless you have more information it doesn’t mean anything on its own. On my last visit to UKRL Loughborough (ex Brush works), about eight months ago, I clocked one or two 68s outside.

I’ve also clocked UKRL/Europhoenix using an ex-TPE 68 at Leicester as a ”super shunter”.

Have seen the Leicester “Shunter” today: 68026.

I would say it’s become one of the worst secrets going, and would be very very surprised to not see them on the Chiltern now.

Further to @D1062 post, several of those in Loughborough were seen to be undergoing various stages of being worked on - these aren’t going inside for storage or super shunting.

Have the mk5s and 68s been confirmed to Chiltern internally do we know please?
I had no idea there were more going to Chiltern.

I thought the 68s were an issue down there due to the noise issues at Marylebone.

Is there a thread on here somewhere about it?
Whilst we wait for ’official’ confirmation of the eventual destination for Mk5a (not Mk5) coaching stock, the relevant speculative discussion is linked here.
