Crane collapse at a new housing estate in Crewe

Just seen on the news there's been a crane collapse close to the Bombardier facility in Crewe with 3 people injured and people being told to avoid the area.

Two men have died after a crane collapsed at a building site.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the site, near Morrisons in Dunwoody Way, Crewe at 4.30pm this afternoon.

A third man, believed to be the crane's operator, was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital – but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Two more people, thought to be a parent and child, were taken to Crewe's Leighton Hospital for a check-up, North West Ambulance Service confirmed earlier today.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: "Sadly, police can confirm that two men have died as a result of the incident...
