i notice that following the work at Basford Hall, a few Berths at Crewe are illuminated with their signal numbers e.g. 110, 570 and US

Are these berths now not in use, or is there another significance to this ?

0110 and 0237, both of which are present, could be timings for the next movement into those berths.

No idea about US - it clearly doesn’t stand for “Up Slow” in this instance.

When I worked on electronics equipment "US" always meant "UnServiceable".

Pretty sure the "0110" and "0237" have been the same for several days.

0237 is a leftover of when units were stabled in the station over Christmas, it would have read "0350" "0237". Berths at the south of Crewe station are now included in the Crewe South panel in Manchester ROC but they are still controlled by Crewe PSB, so 0110 will probably be a test to see if the description can be seen on the Manchester South panel, a message probably wasn't sent through the datafeeds to clear those berths which is why they are still showing.

So Rugby ROC now fringes to Manchester ROC at Betley?
I've lost track of how many separate islands Manchester ROC now controls.
I also saw that WMSCC (West Midlands SCC) is now known as Birmingham ROC.

There are 2 new area ID's in Network Rails datafeeds, those being M7 - MRROC Crewe South Area and M8 - MRROC Crewe Independent Lines. M7 has replaced Basford Hall Junction Box and M8 replaced Sorting Sidings North and Salop Goods Junction boxes. So yes at Betley Rugby and Manchester fringe.

I always thought that Rugby signalled a bit further north of Bentley, until two signals south of BH Junction? is this now not the case?

slightly off topic, but are there plans for coal Yard, Steel Works, Grestly Lane and Crewe PSB to go to Manchester ROC? If so, then when?

That still is the case but those berths will still be shown to Crewe South panel to see what's approaching and last sent. I don't know of any plans for the whole Crewe area to be changed over to Manchester but I would suspect that will be the plan for the future.

Yes, Betley Road SB was the northern-most control area transferred to Stoke SCC and then Rugby ROC.
So the boundary will be north of Betley Road, at Chorlton I think.

I’ve read online that The Alsager line will be passed onto Manchester ROC this year, thus creating another island on the ROC

That's because it's Betley Road not Betley the village a few miles to the south.

I agree, but defined as upgraded to a ROC because Central Route felt left out not having one and changed the name without anything actually changing (other than the sign on the outside)…
Its still just the WMSC…
