Crotia/Slovenia 2007 - part 2

We spent the third day of our trip along the line from Divaca to Koper.

First three pics from Divaca:

We found a nice spot near to a station (unfortunately, I forgot the name):

Here you can see a SZ 541, which is similar to the ÖBB 1216:

In the other direction, it was possible to take nice shots of the trains to Divaca:

The train staff is very friendly in Slovenia and Crotia:

Our first night in a hotel was far to short, but we wanted to take some nice shots of the freight trains on the "Wocheinerbahn" (Jessenice-Nova Gorica (-Sezana))

On some trains on this line, it's possible to take your car with you, to save some time (the railway uses the tunnel, the streets runs over the mountains). On this shot, you can see one of these trains arriving in Most na Soci:

This DMU's serve all regional services on this line:

We had a friendly driver who made some trash for us :

At the south end of the tunnel, two others cars joined us:

The car-train terminates at the north end of the tunnel, and we found a nice spot to take a photo when it's leaving. But first, a short freight train surprised us from the other direction:

Shortly after the freight train, the car-train departs with the top-headlights turned on and a grinnig and waving driver

The freight train got some more wagons:

and departed some minutes later:

On our way back to the south end of the tunnel, we met the freight train again, this time with empty wagons:

We went to Divaca this day again and took some nice shots there:

Yes some very interesting stuff there, another place to add to my 'to do' list! Must get round to doing a report and putting some pics up from my trip to Czech earlier this month.
