D&G Bus operations to include Wolverhampton

Uttoxeter based D&G Bus (who also have a depot in Crewe) have registered to operate the 877 Stafford to Wolverhampton service from 28th April.

In the last couple of years they have expanded North adding Macclesfield and Knutsford to their area of operation. They also were awarded the tender for the 130 Sunday and Bank Holidays Macclesfield-Wilmslow-Manchester service but after GHA Coaches lost the tender they registered a reduced service commercially and the contract awarded to D&G Bus was withdrawn.

They also seem to have been experiencing financial problems recently and increased a lot of single fares by 20% in January.

They have also won the contract to operate service 841 Uttoxeter - Stafford, with a base in Uttoxeter. [ Note timetable for route 877 not up on their website yet ]

Looks like 877 is actually a school/college contracted service which was previously operated by NX West Midlands.

Apparently there are E200's due to replace the Wright Axcess Flolines, With them being T and W reg i for one think this Gossip has some truth behind it.

Route 877 (and 878) are actually joint routes between D & G and Select Bus Service of Penkridge, though all D & G appear to be providing is the operator licence disks to go on the vehicles !

Actual vehicles are two anonymous white E200s

Virtually all of Select Bus Services fleet are Darts ex Rotala & are generally well turned out.

They are owned by the same people but SLT is ran as a stand alone Company.

SLT used to be the trading name of Rolling Solutions Ltd but now D&G Bus is.

The two operators have very different fleets - D&G have single deckers only which are mainly Solos while SLT have some double deckers and mainly longer single deckers so there's only a small number of vehicles which are suitable to switch between the two.

I think the error was they were registered as 'North Western Traffic Area' services when they should have been West Midlands.
