Already invlved in a VERY sucessful appeal. so feel free to 'make negative comments' to the D5705 lads
What are you raising money for that for? Trying to make a name for yourself? What a waste of time, the money could be better spent on main locos

on the mule....
Sigh...

D5705 is a main loco, being the only one that was saved... And 40445 does know what a good cause is.... I've donated lots of money to groups... does that mean i'm making a name for myself? :?

btw, what is your definition of a main loco? :!:

Nice flaw in the arguement there ;)

What are you raising money for that for?

Not ME, part of a group. Its being restored as a hell of a lot of people want to see it running again...and its the only member of its class survivng. Bit different than 'another' 03 shunter that only needs a polish!

Trying to make a name for yourself?

Unlike yourself, I don't desire to have a famous reputation. You have one, but for all the wrong reasons ;)

D5705 is a main loco....

Thank you....

Not really... 73129 will probably go to the ELR, GCR or somewhere after the 1 year period is up completely....

Oh she's coming back to the GCR next year, but it's not been confirmed how long for, but from what we heard they broke the contract to bring her to the GCR, and from the way the owners went home, ruling out 73129 moving to the GCR may be silly, lovely loco nonetheless.

can we please leave the arguments at that?

At the end of the day we all have different priorities and different views on locos but we should all respect that.

I was merely repeating comments made by 40455 when someone else tried to start an appeal for a loco.

I know. I am a pis$ head rocker from an Californian band who carved out their piece of history of music history in the late 80's / early 90's
The song where i play lead guitar and solo was voted best guitar riff ever ;)
Lighten up on the censorship, pis$ ain't that bad

I can't help but agree, at the end of the day, if it wasn't for preservation groups (probably laughed upon by some when they we're created-example say Class 55 preservation, many didn't like them at first) then we wouldn't have our railway history to show to the next generationa nd that's what it is all about. It's about showing people how it used to be.

No matter how well preserved a loco is, it still needs support, if it wasn't for dedicated group they would have been scrapped and lost for ever.

If it weren't for him, St Denys would be a far worse ride (supposedly) ;)
