Days Out Guide offer - ticket validity query

Hi all,
New here, sorry in advance if this is the wrong spot for this thread.

I have a query about the Days Out Guide offer in London for ticket validity.
If I were to buy 4 single tickets,
two from Queenstown Road to Vauxhall on Monday
two from Vauxhall to Queenstown Road on Sunday
Would this be a valid return journey and therefore eligible for the 241 offer on the days in between, the Wednesday for example?

My concern is that specific return tickets are not offered on this route, just singles, which could complicate things?

Thanks!

@SaltyW123. Welcome to the forum. Sorry, no. You have to hold an acceptable rail ticket that's valid for travel on the day you want to use it for the purposes of the 2FOR1 deal. If you want to take advantage of the deal on the Wednesday, you need a rail ticket valid for that particular day. Hope that helps!

Extracts...
National Rail said:
If you are making a single journey or your return ticket is valid for 1 day, you can use your National Rail tickets to qualify for 2FOR1 and other offers on the day of travel.
If you are making a return journey, you can use your National Rail ticket to qualify for 2FOR1 and other offers on any day on or between your outward and return dates. For example, if you arrived on Thursday and will return on Sunday, your tickets will be considered valid for 2FOR1 and other offers on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The extract quoted above refers to a return journey, not a return ticket. So I would have said that what the OP wishes to do is valid.

It would not be fair or logical, for example, to offer London visitors from WCML stations (period returns available) 2-4-1 offers for the duration of their London stay, but only allow ECML users (only singles available) offers on their day of arrival and departure.

Unfortunately that's the offer, as it's currently worded. The OP was specifically asking about having two lots of one day single tickets, and not a period return rail ticket. Another disbenefit of LNER's single leg pricing model?! As you say, not that fair or logical.

In my experience, most attractions won't actually check the train ticket. In the rare cases they do (usually the smaller, less busy attractions) they will just glance at it rather than checking the destination or date (or consulting the routing guide).

For the Merlin attractions and some others, you book online via a link and print off / show on your phone a barcode or QR code - they don't even check you have train tickets, it's just scan and in you go.

Thanks for the responses, all,
I did also ask NR Days Out too, wasn't sure if they'd reply in time but they have.
Here's what they said:
Thanks for your response. I understand that you would like to know if two single tickets will be valid for our offer.

I would like to advise you that as long as you are able to show the two single tickets (to and from Vauxhall) at your chosen attraction, you can certainly take advantage of our offer on any date between your outward and return journey.

Also, please note that the train ticket should have the National Rail logo (similar to the one in my signature), and the destination station on it should be the closest or within the general location of the attraction you plan to visit.

I trust this information will help you take advantage of our offer.

Thanks again for contacting us, and I will be pleased to assist you if you have any further questions.

In my experience, most attractions won't actually check the train ticket.
I hope!
