Hello all,

After having a look on Realtime trains, I have found several Dollands Moor to Wembley diagrams that are "pathed as electric locomotive". Here is an example:

I have, however, heard that DB Class 92s are not able to operate away from HS1/Channel Tunnel. I know that just because it is pathed as an electric locomotive, it doesn't mean that it has to be electrically hauled, but I would think that if it was never electrically hauled they would have changed this.

Obviously, it can't be a 90 as they are overhead only, but could a GBRf 92 work these diagrams occasionally? It just seems odd that they would path a train as an electric when it is never hauled by an electric!

Best wishes,

Class15

In theory if DB were to hire in a 92 from GBRF, and the crew signed the traction, it could work the trips in question. GBRF 92s have worked for DB through the tunnel before, but I’m not sure they’ve worked for DB on the UK network.

In practice those workings will be 66 hauled. It is however fairly common for DB 92s to be hauled dead between Dollands Moor and Wembley, as they’re still maintained in Crewe.
