Could someone please advise if a Derby to London ticket is valid via Birmingham. My plan would be a return out to Marylebone and back from Euston. Thanks in advance

If not, as @jfollows has just advised, it should be possible to do this reasonably straightforwardly with a ticket combination split (say) Derby->Birmingham Stns and Birmingham Stns->London Terminals. I'll defer to the fares experts to suggest an optimal split, but an initial question would be, are you travelling there and back on the same day?

You can get a combination of tickets to cover this, at £86-£89 off-peak.

Most seem to suggest splitting at Tamworth (the not via Birmingham fare), then Tamworth to London Underground Zone 1 fare (or the couple-of-quid-cheaper Tamworth to London Terminals Any Permitted).

Trainsplit won't suggest the London Terminals ticket because I can't set it to arrive and depart from London at different stations.

Tamworth-London adds HB+GC which allows Marylebone via Birmingham, yes.

HB+GC to Marylebone via Birmingham (GC - Great Central)
TV to Euston
WM+TV to Euston via Birmingham

Thanks to all for replies. I will buy separate tickets. To answer the question it will be a return after 2/3 days
