Just as many railtours in the UK have a Premier Dining option. Do similar tours run in Germany?

Anyone point me in the right direction please?

Best suggestion is to look at http://www.drehscheibe-online.de/ds_redaktion/ds_termine.php?DS=2&set_page=3 (in German, sorry).

At a quick glance, the answer is no, you might get a bar car but that's all. The exception might be extended tours a la Royal Scotsman. Or the Rheingold set operated by Nostalgiezugreisen, which advertises a restaurant car.

Hardly at all.
many of the local steam-touristy trains have on some days dinner specials-comparable to many similar operations in the UK. There is also compared to UK much less of interest in evening-dining, for most the main hot meal is still at lunch.
